Here’s Episode 24, Wait…Uh Oh…
So as scheduled on Monday night I sat down and interviewed Andrew Fayash III for episode 24. We had a great conversation and I captured some great stuff for the show. In fact despite the “interview” lasting a little over an hour I actually talked with Andrew for 3 hours. He’s a great guy and we have a lot in common. I checked to ensure that we were recording and it was working fine. After the call was done I checked to make sure the recording was good by listening to the first minute or so and it was. I recorded my solo parts of the show last night, but by the time I was done it was too late to edit everything together. So today I opened up the file to edit the interview down and put it into the show. We had taken a break about 3/4 of the way through but I kept the recorder running so I went to the empty spot in the audio to start my editing there by removing it. That’s when I noticed something off when I listened to find out where to make the cut. Andrew’s voice was perfectly clear, but mine was stuttering and clipping, almost like it was on a bad internet line.
So I backed up and listened to earlier sections and it was still there. In fact everything past about the 7 minute mark was affected. Minor panic attack, but no big deal. This was a copy I had grabbed and moved to a different computer, the original was fine I’m sure. So when I got home I went and opened up the original recording and forwarded to about the 10 minute mark and started listening…
So I now need to figure out how to recover the interview. I have some ideas and in the end I could have tried to fix it the best I can and hope to pull the wool over your eyes, but A) that’s not how I roll and B) it will probably be horribly obvious that something ain’t right. So Episode 24 is coming, just not as soon as I’d hoped. But it will be worth the wait as the insight that Andrew provided was excellent and I’m sure you will enjoy it.
